Trevor Sinclair has urged Manchester City on Twitter to make a move for Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi.
The former City winger made the comment on the social networking site while watching Messi in action for Barcelona against Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals of the Champions League on Friday evening.
Although Argentine forward Messi tried his best, he failed to prevent his Barca side from suffering a humiliating 8-2 defeat at the hands of Bayern.
According to WhoScored, the Argentina international took three shots of which two were on target, played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 83.9%, took 59 touches, attempted three dribbles, made one tackle, and put in seven crosses.
Sinclair has urged City Director of Football Txiki Begiristain to “rescue” the 33-year-old from Barcelona.
Manchester City transfer this summer?
While City have signed some brilliant and world-class players over the years, it is hard to see them prise away Messi from Barcelona in the summer transfer wndow.
True, the La Liga giants are not in the best of conditions as a club and will need a huge rebuild, but Messi has been at Camp Nou his entire professional football career.
