The former Hammer believes the club simply must finish in the top 10, and should be aiming for a top-six finish.

Former West Ham United star Trevor Sinclair has told the club’s official website that the side absolutely must finish in the Premier League’s top 10 this season, and suggested that they should be aiming for a top-six place.
The Hammers enjoyed their most successful season in recent times last term under Slaven Bilic, finishing seventh in the Premier League table.
However, they have not enjoyed anywhere near the same level of success so far this term, winning just one of their first seven games, and currently sit in the relegation zone.

Much of the blame for their fall from grace has been attributed to their move from their traditional Upton Park home to the new London Stadium, with is being suggested that players and fans alike have struggled to adapt to the relocation.
However, Sinclair believes the stadium is far better than their old home and insists that the move was necessary for the club, and suggested that replicating last season’s finish should still be the club’s aim this term.
The former England international told the Hammers website: “There are a lot of people saying that it [the London Stadium] is not Upton Park. It’s not – it’s twice as good, for me. I think it’s needed for the club to go forward. There’s a lot more expectancy now playing here.

“They weren’t too far away from top four last year. They finished seventh, could have easily been in the top six which was a little bit disappointing with a few injuries at the wrong time. This season, why not try and do the same? Top six, top seven would be a fantastic achievement. A lot of clubs have strengthened recruitment-wise.
“It’s going to be very difficult but I feel top six, seven is very doable. Top 10 has got to be a minimum. With the playing staff that West Ham have got at the moment I think they should be finishing in the top 10. I feel it’s a good season we’ve got coming ahead of us.”
West Ham fans would be forgiven for struggling to share Sinclair’s optimism at this moment in time, but their former winger is right to suggest that the club has a squad capable of qualifying for Europe if they can just spark a change in their fortunes.
