Pundit Trevor Sinclair has told BBC Sport’s Match of the Day 2 Extra that he thinks Nacer Chadli may want to prove Tottenham wrong following his move to West Bromwich Albion.
The Belgian winger, 26, joined Spurs from Dutch side FC Twente in 2013, with Tottenham forking out just £7m to sign him under Andre Villas-Boas, as noted by BBC Sport.

Chadli hit an impressive 25 goals in 119 games for Tottenham, but found himself behind the likes of Christian Eriksen, Heung-min Son and Erik Lamela at the end of last season, meaning his days at White Hart Lane were numbered.
Just a day before the transfer deadline last month, Chadli left Tottenham for West Bromwich Albion, with the Baggies paying £13m to land him according to The Guardian – almost double what Spurs paid three years ago.
Saturday’s game against West Ham United saw Chadli make just his second appearance for Tony Pulis’ men, but he showed just why West Brom were so keen to sign him with a stunning performance.

With two goals and two assists in West Brom’s 4-2 victory, Chadli was a menace for the West Ham defence, and his performance has drawn praise from pundit Trevor Sinclair.
The former England international has told BBC Sport’s Match of the Day 2 Extra that he has reservations over Chadli’s hunger and desire to succeed, though he always rated his technical ability.

Sinclair added that he thinks Chadli may look to prove Tottenham wrong for letting him go; something which may well drive the winger to succeed having played a bit-part role under Mauricio Pochettino.
“That’s the biggest thing I was impressed with, Chadli’s performance,” said Sinclair. “We’ve seen him play at Spurs, where he looks like he’s got nice touch, nice guile, but does he really want it. He looked hungry [against West Ham], he looked like he had desire, he looked like he really wanted to maybe prove Tottenham wrong for letting him go. It was a fantastic performance from him, and he was very difficult for West Ham to deal with,” he added.
