Trevor Sinclair has congratulated Celtic on Twitter on being crowned the champions of Scotland.

The former Queens Park Rangers and West Ham United winger has added that Celtic would have won the Scottish Premiership title even if the remainder of the games had been played.

The SPFL announced today that the Scottish Premiership has been called early, with the final league table calculated on a points-per-game basis.

Celtic have been declared as champions, while their bitter Old Firm rivals Rangers have ended up second.

Sinclair is a Celtic fan, and he has said that Neil Lennon’s side would have won the championship title even if the rest of the matches had been played.

Inevitable title triumph

Celtic were 13 points clear of Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premiership table when the season was suspended.

Although the Gers had a game in hand, it is hard to imagine that the Hoops would have suffered a collapse so late in the season.

Rangers’ form in the weeks leading up to the suspension of the Scottish Premiership season was disappointing as well.
