West Ham United failed to get a win in the Betway Cup, but a certain £24 million signing got off the mark.
Marko Arnautovic marked his West Ham United debut with a goal in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Werder Bremen in the Betway Cup.
The Austria international, who joined West Ham in a club-record £24 million move, cancelled out Luca Caldirola’s opener on 26 minutes with a near-post flick.
Toni Martinez fired the Irons 2-1 ahead, but Slaven Bilic’s side could not hold out for the win as Yuning Zhang equalised for the Bundesliga outfit with nine minutes to go.

Nevertheless, the result is of very little consequence and Bilic will be delighted to see his big-money signing get off the mark, even if it is a friendly.
And West Ham legend Trevor Sinclair said on Twitter that the former Stoke City man is going about winning over the Hammers faithful in the best way possible.
The East Londoners, who have also added Joe Hart and Javier Hernandez over the past two weeks, take on Manchester United in their Premier League curtain raiser on August 13.
