Trevor Sinclair has claimed that Tottenham’s ‘absolutely phenomenal’ striker, Harry Kane, is no longer suffering from his ‘difficult’ start to the season, as he told talkSPORT.
The former England winger thinks Kane has ‘found his feet again’ after scoring his 49th goal for his country on Saturday.
The Three Lions recorded a 2-1 win over Switzerland at Wembley, with Kane netting the winning goal from the spot-kick.
That’s 23 goals in all competitions for the 28-year-old this term, who was involved in well-documented transfer drama last summer when Manchester City came knocking for his services.
Sinclair claimed that Kane returning back to his best proves that he is a ‘good guy’ and England should be ‘very proud’ to have him represent their country.
“He has had a difficult season, especially at the start, with all the rumours that he could have gone from Tottenham to Manchester City,” said Sinclair.
“He has shown that he is a good guy. He didn’t want that reputation of staying away on holiday. Came back, his form suffered for that. I think it was all mentality.
“He has found his feet again. Scoring at will. That was his 13th goal this season. He is an absolute phenomenal striker. Great link-up play. Works tirelessly for the team and is very humble.
“I think we should be very proud to have him part of our national team.”

Tottenham fans will be hoping Kane doesn’t start for England when they play their second friendly match in less than a week against the Ivory Coast on Tuesday.
On one hand, he is England’s leading player, the captain and he is chasing Wayne Rooney’s all-time record.
So, it’s not what Spurs fans want to hear, but he will probably start.
If that’s the case, then perhaps Southgate will only give him an hour, rather than the full 90 because, in truth, he doesn’t need to play the entire match.
Kane is four behind Rooney’s all-time England record, and whilst that will be broken pretty soon, it’s not going to happen tomorrow.
