West Ham United have already had an offer rejected for Sunderland forward Jermain Defoe.
Trevor Sinclair has suggested that he believes West Ham United will complete a deal for Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe in the January transfer window.
West Ham are said to be interested in Defoe, but their first offer has been rejected by Sunderland (Sky Sports).
The Hammers are said to have bid £6 million for the veteran forward, but the Black Cats have opted against selling their top scorer.

At the moment, it remains to be seen whether West Ham will return to make an improved bid for Defoe.
But Sinclair is of the opinion that his former side will be able to get a deal over the line for the England international.
Defoe has been Sunderland’s most productive attacker ever since he joined the Stadium of Light back in 2015.
David Moyes will not want to lose the clinical finisher, but Sunderland do not have the financial power of many of their Premier League rivals.
If Defoe was to move to West Ham, he would be likely to go straight into Slaven Bilic’s starting line-up.
