The Express & Star are reporting this morning that West Bromwich Albion are on the verge of signing Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea.
What’s the story?
It has been reported by The Express & Star that West Brom are in talks with Chalobah over a move in the summer transfer window.
The Baggies had already opened talks the Chelsea youngster, and those discussions are progressing well.
FC Lorient want to sign the 22-year-old as well, having had him on loan last season.
However, the youngster wants to remain in England.
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has made the youngster available for transfer, and it is unlikely that the Blues will demand a fee for him.
Good signing for West Bromwich Albion?
Chalobah is a good and promising young player whose versatility could help West Brom next season.
The youngster’s experience during his loan spells at Ipswich Town, Huddersfield Town and FC Lorient means that he would be able to make an immediate impact at the Baggies.
The youngster has played in the Championship before, and that will come handy for the Baggies, as they aim to clinch promotion back to the Premier League.

Chalobah made 24 starts and five substitute appearances in Ligue 1 last season.
The youngster scored two goals and gave two assists in those games.
Chalobah played predominantly in central defence, but he was also deployed in central midfield and at right-back.
