Liverpool were once again on the winning side as the Reds made it eight wins-in-a-row in the Premier League, and Joel Matip was on fire.

The centre-back who was recently named Premier League Player of the Month for February, assisted Luis Diaz’s controversial opener was a sensational pass from his own half as Liverpool kept another clean sheet.

Matip has enjoyed his best season to date with Liverpool, with the Cameroonian becoming an undroppable player for Jurgen Klopp’s starting XI as the Reds continue to win and keep clean sheets.

Whilst Liverpool still remain outside favourites for the Premier League title, Matip’s form has been something that has been loved by many Reds supporters as well as plenty of neutrals.

The former Schalke 04 star’s driving runs from his own half and his precise passing have made Matip an incredibly entertaining defender to watch, and his form in recent weeks has proved vital for Liverpool in their current winning streak.

And Matip’s 19th-minute assist for Diaz was once again key for the Reds. Whilst the story of the goal was the decision not to send off Roberto Sanchez for his outrageous tackle on the Colombian, fans were still amazed by the pass from the Merseyside defender.
