Luis Diaz hasn’t taken long adapting to life at Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp has been praising the Colombia international for his enthusiasm in Liverpool training.
And on his debut last weekend, he registered an assist within minutes of coming on.
The 25-year-old, who cost the Reds £49 million in the January transfer window, did brilliantly to set up Takumi Minamino in an FA Cup victory over Cardiff City.
But Trent Alexander-Arnold has revealed to Liverpool’s official website that Diaz has had a ‘little argument’ with Diogo Jota in training yesterday over who really deserves the assist.
Alexander-Arnold said: “I think him and Diogo had a little argument about whose assist it was today… I’m not quite sure, I didn’t want to get involved and I stayed impartial to that! It was an amazing start.”
Friendly debate
Technically, it was Diaz’s pass which Minamino converted against the Championship outfit.
However, the football ran through Jota’s legs – not intentionally – but it might’ve brushed the Portugal international’s foot, technically giving him a claim.
Nevertheless, it’s clearly a friendly bit of banter between the two Liverpool teammates and another example of Diaz’s speedy transition to life in England.
Moving to another country is never easy, particularly English football which is noted for its speed and intensity.
But if you’re a Liverpool fan, you’re certainly feeling optimistic about Diaz becoming a success story on Merseyside.
Not only is he impressing on the pitch, but all the signs are that he’s enjoying himself off it and that’s equally as important.
