Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold isn’t shy to express himself and showcase his technical ability out on the pitch.

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has seen it first-hand because he grew up with the Liverpool man when they were coming through the England ranks.

Now both are currently repping their country at Euro 2024, with Trent Alexander-Arnold starting his side’s 1-0 win over Serbia on Sunday.

England’s official YouTube account is putting out content with the players, as Ramsdale and Alexander-Arnold played a game of ‘Roommates’.

They were asked a series of questions about each other to see if they could get it right and how well they actually know each other.

One of the things discussed was when former Manchester United star Jesse Lingard claimed that Alexander-Arnold couldn’t hit the crossbar from distance after a falling out following a game of young v old.

And right on cue, the Anfield star hit the crossbar flush and Lingard couldn’t do anything but laugh and then shake his hand.

Alexander-Arnold was asked about it and he issued a brilliant putdown by stating, ‘we had just beaten them in a young v old and they wouldn’t shake me hand, so I had to do what I do best.’

England’s back-up goalkeeper saw the funny side to Alexander-Arnold’s response and how he is super competitive.

“They had a falling out,” said Ramsdale. “I think Trent’s team might have cheated. No surprises with him, he’s the most competitive person I know. He couldn’t let it rest. Jesse (Lingard) let him shake his hand if he hit the crossbar and he slapped it from the halfway line. A very, very good clip.”

Alexander-Arnold then explained: “We had just beaten them in a young v old and they wouldn’t shake me hand, so I had to do what I do best.”

Ramsdale then laughs and points at the Liverpool man: “Trent fashion, I think I said. Zinged it off the crossbar.”

Trent Alexander-Arnold at Euro 2024

Ramsdale isn’t going to start unless there is an injury to Jordan Pickford and that’s unlikely.

But Alexander-Arnold is starting for Gareth Southgate, not playing at right-back, but in the middle of the park.

It has raised interesting views because many feel that it’s a tactic that isn’t working.

England will play Denmark for their second Euro 2024 group game on Thursday and all eyes will be on whether Southgate sticks with the same XI.
