Liverpool remain unbeaten in the Premier League this season, but weren’t able to beat Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds entered the game having won every league game so far this season, and were thoroughly expected to ease past a struggling United side.

However, the hosts took the lead as Daniel James raced down the right flank and crossed for Marcus Rashford to score, slotting past the returning Alisson.

The goal sparked controversy as Victor Lindelof appeared to have fouled Divock Origi in the build-up, but VAR allowed the goal to stand – and then ruled out Sadio Mane’s equaliser for handball.

It looked like Liverpool were slipping to defeat, but they pulled themselves level late on, with Adam Lallana tapping home Andrew Robertson’s cross at the back post.

Liverpool couldn’t find a winner, though Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain did go close with a long-range effort, and Liverpool dropped points for the first time this season.

Liverpool players took to Twitter after the game to react to the result, with Trent Alexander-Arnold admitting that it wasn’t their best performance of the season, but at least they’re still unbeaten.

That sentiment was backed up by Virgil van Dijk, Gini Wijnaldum and Fabinho, whilst James Milner congratulated Lallana on his goal.
