Liverpool ended their Champions League group stage campaign on Wednesday night with a 1-1 draw against Midtjylland.
The Reds travelled to Denmark in search of a positive end to the group stage, though Jurgen Klopp made a number of changes with his side already through.
Liverpool took an early lead as Mohamed Salah scored inside the first minute, but Midtjylland hit back through an Alexander Scholz penalty.
Klopp may be disappointed not to have won, especially with Takumi Minamino’s late goal being ruled out by VAR, but it was a big night for Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The 22-year-old was named Liverpool captain for last night’s game, skippering the side for the first time with Jordan Henderson not involved.
This was a huge moment for the right back, as he was born in Liverpool, joined the club at six and grew up supporting the Reds.

Captaining his boyhood club will have been one of his career goals, and he has achieved it just two months since turning 22 – summing up just how talented and valued he is at Anfield.
Alexander-Arnold took to Twitter to post just three words after his big night, claiming the moment was ‘dreams to reality’ as he posted a photo of himself as a kid at Liverpool alongside him captaining the first team last night.
