Liverpool came from behind to claim a late win over Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon, with Trent Alexander-Arnold the hero.

The Reds were beaten at Real Madrid in midweek, and needed to hit back against Villa – but fell behind to an Ollie Watkins opener.

Liverpool thought they had a leveller through Roberto Firmino, only for that goal to be disallowed, though Mohamed Salah did equalise eventually.

Jurgen Klopp’s men pushed for a winner, and got it late on as Alexander-Arnold fired home a right-footed strike in injury-time to seal all three points.

This came at the perfect time for Alexander-Arnold. He has been under the microscope for weeks now, having been left out of the last England squad.

Some wonder whether he will now play at the European Championships, and he was picked apart for his defensive deficiencies against Real Madrid.

This goal was a major response to his critics, and he took to Twitter to post just four words following his winner – ‘Are you not entertained?’

Alexander-Arnold’s goal came in front of England boss Gareth Southgate as he watched the game at Anfield, and everyone will hope that the right back has a strong end to the season and forces his way back into the England side; after all, he’s undoubtedly one of England’s most talented players.
