Gary Lineker has said on Twitter that Liverpool and England international right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold is a world-class player.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and England international striker made the comments after watching Alexander-Arnold in action for Liverpool against Burnley at Anfield in the Premier League yesterday.
Lineker believes that the 22-year-old will be back in the England squad for upcoming matches.
Alexander-Arnold did not feature for England at the Euro 2020 finals this summer due to injury.
The defender is one of the best young right-backs in the world, and he showed that again with his performance against Burnley yesterday.
The 22-year-old provided the assist for Sadio Mane’s goal in the 69th minute.
The England international right-back took one shot, played seven key passes, had a pass accuracy of 81.8%, won two headers, took 101 touches, made two tackles, one interception and three clearances, and put in 12 crosses.
Alexander-Arnold was not particularly at his best in the first half of last season, but the youngster ended the campaign strongly and returned to his best.
The defender scored two goals and gave seven assists in 34 league starts last season.
In 2019-20, Alexander-Arnold scored four goals and gave 13 assists in the Premier League.
