Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has said on Amazon Prime Video Sport that former Chelsea star Eden Hazard, who left Stamford Bridge for Real Madrid in 2019, is the best player he has faced in the Premier League.
Alexander-Arnold, who is one of the best right-backs in the world, has outlined what made Hazard a formidable opposition.
The 22-year-old England international has also mentioned Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne as a player who is tough to play against.
Hazard, who can play as a winger or as an attacking midfielder was on the books of Chelsea from 2012 until 2019 when he moved to Madrid for an initial transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £89 million.
Alexander-Arnold said on Amazon Prime Video Sport when asked to name his toughest opponent in the Premier League: “Hazard, maybe De Bruyne, but directly against an opponent would have to be Hazard. Speed, agility, mentality, intelligence on and off the ball.”

Getting better
Alexander-Arnold was younger when he faced Hazard in the Premier League.
The Liverpool right-back has become a much better player over the past two seasons.
There is an argument to be made that the England international is the best right-back in the world.
Hazard has had injury problems during his time at Madrid, and it will be interesting to see how Alexander-Arnold would cope against the Belgium international now.
