Arsenal star Bukayo Saka exorcised some of his EURO 2020 demons on Sunday, scoring for England against Andorra – and Trent Alexander-Arnold has praised him.
Saka was one of the players to fail from the penalty spot against Italy in the EURO 2020 final, leading to England’s defeat.
The youngster sadly received ridiculous abuse online after that penalty, despite the fact that he showed the courage to step up and take one in the first place.
Saka was back at Wembley for the first time since that night, starting in Sunday’s 4-0 win over Andorra.
The 20-year-old was a threat throughout and then scored a fine header, getting himself on the scoresheet at the same end as his penalty woe.
This will hopefully allow Saka to move on from from the moment, and continue his rapid development having become a key man for club and country.
Saka’s goal also came on his birthday, meaning this was the perfect day for Saka – and he has now received praise from Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Liverpool star spoke to ITV Sport after Sunday’s win, branding Saka an ‘unbelievable lad’ and ‘fantastic’, noting that he is like a little brother to many in the England squad.
Alexander-Arnold couldn’t speak highly enough of Saka, and it’s clear that Arsenal have an absolute star on their hands as Saka continues to bounce back from his summer heartache.
“He’s an unbelievable lad, on and off the pitch,” said Alexander-Arnold. “He’s fantastic. He’s like a little brother figure to a lot of us, he’s someone who is always walking around with a smile on his face no matter what’s going on.”
“The way he’s reacted from what happened in the summer, coming back, scoring a goal today really put the icing on the cake for him,” he added.
