Newcastle United take on Leeds United this weekend in the Championship in one of the most hotly anticipated fixtures of the season.
One League Cup game in 2013 aside, it is the first time the two teams have met for more than a decade, and fans are set to flock to Elland Road.
The match is Leeds United’s first sell out of the season, and Newcastle United fans have been taking a few jabs at the Whites this week, believing fans simply want to watch the Toon.
Some have even described the match as ‘Leeds United’s cup final’, insisting that for Newcastle, the match is just another game.

Newcastle of course are used to big crowds, having only just being relegated from the Premier League, and in terms of players, really having a top flight standard side, and a Champions League level manager.
Leeds have had a barren spell outside the top flight which included a miserable drop into League One and administration, and while the big game is partly responsible for the surge in tickets – the form of the Whites’ team themselves has been a big factor.

Newcastle are flying high at the top of the league, a position they could very well maintain all season, but they are matching expectations.
Leeds United are in a play-off spot in sixth place, far better than where Garry Monk’s side were anticipated to be a few weeks ago, when they were stuck in the bottom half of the division.
