Speaking on the Transfer Talk Podcast, Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth has been discussing Raphinha’s future amid ongoing links to Barcelona, Chelsea and Arsenal.

The Brazilian has been the subject of so much speculation over the past month or so, but despite hearing a number of reports about bids and interest from other clubs, we’re still no closer to figuring out where the Leeds winger will be playing next season.

At one point, it looked like he was headed to Chelsea, then Barcelona’s interest was reignited, while Arsenal are still lurking in the background.

This is a transfer saga that have moved very slowly, but according to Sheth, there should be developments on this front this week.

What’s been said?

Sheth spoke about Raphinha.

“A transfer twist potentially, Chelsea were hopeful of completing a deal to sign him last week, but Barcelona are now in talks and their president Joan Laporta says that Raphinha wants to join them. Remember, Raphinha’s agent is the ex-Barcelona and ex-Chelsea midfielder Deco, I wonder which of those clubs he’ll be keeping happy by the end of this window. This one should develop further this week,” Sheth said.

Leaving

From a Leeds point of view, it doesn’t really matter where the Brazilian ends up, the only thing that is important at this point is that he’s leaving the club.

Leeds are already beginning to reinvest the money they’re likely to receive for Raphinha as they close in on deals for Luis Sinisterra and Tyler Adams, while the Brazilian’s departure should also free up some funds for the arrival of a new attacker.

As for the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal, they’re still in this transfer race, but there may well be a few more twists still to come on this front.
