Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Manchester United all rumoured to be on the move.

All the last 24 hours football news and gossip you need to know in one place…

Oh Wesley. How you toy with us. Yes its that man again gossip column veteran Wesley Sneijder who yesterday stated he was 90 per cent certain to stay with Inter Milan this transfer window.

Only 90 per cent? Well a 10 per cent chance of coming to the Premier League is more than many would have expected, and suddenly Manchester City and Inter Milan have been forced to deny rumours of a swap deal with Carlos Tevez. Of course we know Manchester United are also interested.

What will become of our favourite Dutchman?

Sneijder to City?

And now onto the man who set a cataclysmic transfer ball rolling last January. Can he do it again? It was Darren Bent‘s mega money move to Aston Villa which set the tone for Fernando Torres and Andy Carroll‘s big deals.

Rumours continue to persist that Liverpool are interested in snapping him up this January, despite the denials of managers Kenny Dalglish and Alex McLeish.

What is certain that Bent is unsettled, and would favour a move, however would his price tag be too high even for a club which paid £20 million for Stewart Downing?

Bent to Liverpool?

But if Bent was to go… Aston Villa would have money to buy a replacement, right?

The tabloids are already doing their sums, and of course conclude that McLeish is set to launch an audacious bid to sign Chelsea‘s Didier Drogba.

While you have to admire the temerity of anybody who thinks this could be true, and if it is, Aston Villa’s ambition, the sticking point will certainly be Drogba’s wage demands.

He has bills to pay you know, and he wants to pay in Russian or Middle Eastern currency only.

Drogba to Aston Villa?

Another juicy bit of transfer gossip is the news that Tottenham could be after Brazilian sensation Ganso. The creative midfielder could be theirs for as little as £15 million according to the Daily Telegraph.

He currently plays for Robinho’s former club Santos and the paper reports that Spurs are to today enter talks with the club in what would no doubt be a major coup and statement of ambition.

Joining up with fellow Brazilian Sandro would be one factor to persuade Ganso to join, but other clubs including Manchester United are also believed to be monitoring the 21-year-old international.

Ganso to Spurs?

And finally, Frank Lampard, what can you say about rumours linking him from Chelsea to Manchester United? Quite a lot actually.

Our article discusses why it may not be such a far-fetched suggestion that the midfielder may seek to move.

Of course it was written before Sir Alex Ferguson publicly disparaged the claims this morning, but that isn’t to say talks aren’t ongoing behind the scenes and that it won’t happen this summer. Ferguson didn’t actually say that he didn’t want him…
