Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Everton are the talk of the papers today.
All the rumour, gossip, and news you need to know from the last 24 hours…
Far from being all done and dusted as some reports have suggested, Manchester United have by no means secured the signature of Shinji Kagawa. The Dortmund playmaker has one year left on his contract and will move on this summer, but each tabloid is reporting that Arsenal are ready to join the hunt. If he did go to the Emirates he would be able to team up with Japanese countryman Ryo Miyaichi.
Bracing themselves for the fact that Brad Friedel may one day retire, Tottenham Hotspur are said to be preparing a bid for former England international Ben Foster. The stopper is currently at West Brom on loan from Birmingham and the future of the 29-year-old is far from assured. The Mirror report that Spurs are planning a move sooner rather than later, not wanting to see him go elsewhere.
Fulham midfielder Moussa Dembele is fast becoming one of the Premier League’s hottest properties. The Mail report that Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea are all monitoring the Belgian. Like Clint Dempsey, Fulham face losing him on a free next summer, so could be tempted to cash in, while the paper report that Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool are also interested in the £10 million rated star.
Blackpool may be into the play-off final, but should they not secure promotion on May 19, they could face losing their stars. Among them would be striker Matt Phillips who is being watched by Everton. Phillips has bagged 18 goals in all this season, including Blackpool’s crucial second in the semi-final in midweek, and could be available for around £3 million. However if the Tangerines are promoted, any deal will likely be off.
A defender looking to shrewdly jump ship is Bolton centre-back Zat Knight. With Wanderers looking to be on their way down, he is said to be angling for a move to a club possibly on their way up, West Ham. Knight is out on contract this summer and the Mirror report he is also keen on a move to London and the Hammers are reportedly keen. This one could be on whether the Hammers are promoted or not.
