Arsenal have been linked with signing Yann M’Vila all summer, but appear to have dropped their interest of late. Now it appears their rivals Tottenham are ready to steal in and sign him from Rennes. The French club confirmed they had received an offer for the 22-year-old from a Premier League side, with the Mail suggesting it is Spurs who have made the bid. The paper also report the White Hart Lane club are pushing Arsenal and AC Milan all the way in efforts to sign M’Baye Niang from Caen.

The Mirror are intriguingly linking Mexico’s Olympic hero Oribe Peralta with a move to Manchester United, with the player himself saying he would love to follow Chicharito in moving to Old Trafford. Whether the interest from the Red Devils is reciprocal remains to be seen. Peralta is a 28-year-old striker who plays for Santos Laguna in Mexico, and scored both goals in the Olympic final against Brazil.

Newcastle have agreed a fee with Ajax for the signing of Vurnon Anita. The versatile player, capable of featuring at left-back or in midfield, is due in for a medical, and the move could be tied up within 24 hours. United have been chasing the player for the past month, and the fee is reported to be £6.2 million.

A report in the Italian media has claimed Arsenal are looking at swapping Nicklas Bendtner for defender Philippe Mexes. The centre-back is out of favour at AC Milan after a fall-out on their pre-season tour, while Arsenal are in need of an extra defender and to get rid of their Danish striker. Whether Mexes at 30 is the right man or not remains to be seen, but this is one to watch.

And finally, Fulham‘s hunt for another new striker has led them to David Ngog, according to The Sun. The French ace is currently at Bolton, where he scored four goals last season. Fulham are reported to have made a £3 million bid, one million less than the Trotters paid for him last summer. Fulham had been keen to sign Jordan Rhodes, but his £6 million price tag has led to the club looking at alternatives.
