QPR, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Manchester City and Wigan Athletic are all preparing to buy or sell this January…

All the last 24 hours transfer news and gossip you need to know in one place…

There’s only one place to start, and that’s down at Loftus Road, where new QPR boss Mark Hughes is set to be handed a large transfer fund.

It depends which paper you read as to how much, The Mirror report £30 million and The Sun say £20 million.

The Guardian reports he is making Aston Villa striker Darren Bent his number one target, along with Manchester City outcast Wayne Bridge.

Whether Bent would see QPR as a step up or a step down is hard to assess, but if Hughes was to sign him, it would be a major coup for him personally and the club.

Bent to QPR?

Another day, another striker is linked with Tottenham. Today the honour falls to Loic Remy, the Frenchman who held talks with Stoke earlier in the summer.

He is currently at Marseille, although the Mirror reports that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has opened up talks with the French club about a £22 million move.

How Remy would fit into their system alongside Adebayor and Defoe is unclear, as is whether he is worth such a price, but the story is one worth monitoring.

Remy to Spurs?

The Daily Mail reports that Manchester United are eyeing a shock swoop for Greek international right-back Vasilis Torosidis.

He currently plays for Olympiakos and the paper reports United have been tracking him for 18 months and sent scouts to watch him play on Sunday.

United’s right-back position has been chopped and changed all year with Rafael, Fabio, Chris Smalling, Antonio Valencia and Phil Jones all getting opportunities but failing to make it their own.

Torosidis to Manchester United?

Another big story on today’s agenda is the future of Carlos Tevez. It has been made clear by Manchester City that they wish to let him go, but only permanently.

The problem is that AC Milan, the club leading negotiations only want to take him on loan.

This has opened the way for Inter Milan to swoop, with chairman Massimo Moratti today confirming they were preparing a bid.

Either way, City will be pretty happy to got shot of him, considering the events of this season, and a bid of around £25 million should seal the deal.

Pretty much everybody in English football wants this one sorted one way or another, so please make it happen(!) Our fear is this will drag on right until the final second of transfer deadline day.

Tevez to Inter?

Our early article today discusses the future of Manchester United‘s fringe players.

One of these is Mame Biram Diouf, who has been linked with a loan move to Wigan Athletic. He isn’t the only one, we have counted five players who could be leaving Old Trafford this month.

If you think there are any we have missed, let us know by leaving a comment on our article.
