AC Milan, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Fulham and Chelsea are all looking like doing business in this month’s transfer window.
All the last 24 hours football gossip you need to know in one place…
Today we kick things off with an extravagant rumour that AC Milan could go for Manchester City‘s Mario Balotelli as well as wantaway Carlos Tevez.
The Sun claim they could sacrifice Alexandre Pato to do so. We feel this one is highly unlikely to all come off.
While Balotelli is a fan of Milan, he is enjoying his time at City and now is the wrong time. Tevez is likely to be off, but does anybody care any more?
An interesting piece of gossip is that Tottenham could be preparing a bid for West Ham‘s James Tomkins. Inspired by William Gallas‘ injury last night, the Daily Mail says Tomkins is now a key target for the club.
West Ham would not want to let him go mid-season, and Newcastle are also interested, but is he good enough for Tottenham? We’re not so sure…
Sky Sports reported earlier today that Fulham have lodged a bid for Italian side Catania’s Maxi Lopez. Lopez once played for Barcelona and would be a decent acquisition for Fulham, but he has never been prolific, and at £10 million you have to wonder if such a bid would be good value.
Does it spell the end for Bobby Zamora?
Arsenal fans should be encouraged by a snippet in the Daily Mail that striking target Lukas Podolski has stalled on a new deal at current club Cologne.
German teammate Per Mertesacker is said to be encouraging both parties to go for a move, and the striker would be a quality signing for the Gunners, and a surefire improvement on Chamakh as cover for Van Persie.
And finally, this very website is asking which Chelsea stars could be off this transfer window. We have highlighted Didier Drogba, and Solomon Kalou plus three others as facing uncertain futures, and discuss where they could be off to, as Andre Villas-Boas continues to remould his squad.
