The big question over Barkley’s potential move to Tottenham has been the competition with Dele Alli, who keeps him out of the England side.
Pochettino clearly believes they can play together for Tottenham for many years, with Dembele recently turning 30.
The partnership can benefit Barkley’s England prospects too, forming a midfield trio along with Eric Dier.
If Tottenham and Everton agree a fee, Barkley would be foolish to seek a move elsewhere.
