Former Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United striker Berbatov is a free agent at the moment, having parted company with PAOK in the summer of 2016.
According to odds on Ladbrokes, Premier League club West Ham are favourites to sign the 36-year-old at 7/1.
London outfit Crystal Palace are second favourites at 8/1, with Bournemouth just behind on 10/1.
The odds of Berbatov returning to his former club Fulham, who are in the Championship at the moment, are 12/1. Premier League duo Sunderland and Swansea City are rated at 12/1 to secure the services of the Bulgarian striker.
Berbatov had a very successful career in England. The striker did well during his time at Tottenham, Manchester United and Fulham, winning the League Cup with Spurs in 2008 and the Premier League with the Red Devils in 2009 and 2011.
The former Bulgaria international striker is past his prime at the age of 36, but he could be a decent back-up at a struggling club, like Sunderland or Swansea.
West Ham should end up in the top 10 of the Premier League this season, and they should be looking at other strikers.
