A round-up of the latest transfer gossip from around Europe as Paris Saint-Germain offer Kylian Mbappe a contract and speak with a wantaway Newcastle United player.
The Ligue 1 giants might be about to set the January sales into overdrive after a steady start this month. Most deals have so far only trodden water but PSG could blow the window wide open. They are also not alone in considering moves with an influx of deals likely on the way.
Wednesday, January 17 also marks the day that Ivan Toney returns from the Brentford star’s eight-month FA ban. The 27-year-old has not played since last May but can take to the pitch again on Saturday. The Bees take on Nottingham Forest in the Premier League this weekend.

Paris Saint-Germain have offered Kylian Mbappe a contract worth more than €100m (£86m) a year, per RMC Sport. The 25-year-old is currently set to become a free agent in June. But he can earn £1.6m-a-week by turning down a €30m-a/y (£496k-a/w) switch to Real Madrid.
PSG are also in talks with Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes about a transfer in January, per Sport. The Brazilian wants to leave the Magpies as soon as possible and will not wait for Barcelona to swoop. But his transfer will require PSG to pay a €100m (£86m) release clause.
Jordan Henderson left Al-Ettifaq’s training camp on Tuesday night as he now considers bids from interested teams, per The Times. AFC Ajax have been leading the race for his signature as the 33-year-old has not settled in Saudi Arabia. He has also had new talks with Al-Ettifaq.
Wolves are now weighing up approaching Chelsea over the loan transfer of striker Armando Broja, per The Guardian. But the 22-year-old’s future relies on the Blues signing a forward to replace him at Stamford Bridge. West Ham United also remain long-term admirers of Broja.
Manchester United are tracking Bayern Munich target Leny Yoro closely in view of a transfer this summer, per Florian Plettenberg. The 18-year-old is one of the top, young centre-backs in Europe and has stunned Old Trafford chiefs. But the Red Devils know he is highly coveted.
Sky Germany journalist Plettenberg also reports that Manchester United have held opening talks with Joshua Zirkzee about a transfer. The 22-year-old is a firm striker target for the Old Trafford outfit for the summer sales. Bayern Munich are not currently considering his return.

Manchester United have also rejected a loan approach from Middlesbrough for Amad Diallo in January, per the Daily Mail. Old Trafford chiefs want to keep the winger at the club having impressed them in training to offer Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho and Antony cover.
Newcastle are considering a transfer for Atalanta midfielder Ederson, per Sky Sports. The 24-year-old has been a pivotal part of La Dea’s engine room so far this season having given a creative threat. He boasts six goals and an assist during the Brazilian’s 27 appearances yet.
West Ham have rejected an initial approach by Marseille over a transfer for Said Benrahma, per the Evening Standard. OM requested a loan deal to the summer with the option to buy the out-of-favour forward. But the Irons only plan to let the 28-year-old leave permanently.
The Evening Standard also reports that Brentford are close to agreeing to terms for the loan transfer of Tottenham Hotspur left-back Sergio Reguilon. He returned to Spurs after his spell at Manchester United and was the Bees’ No1 target, despite early desires to return to Spain.
Brentford are also rivalling interest from Nottingham Forest and West Ham for a transfer for Celtic centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers. The Daily Record notes that the Premier League teams have scouted the USA enforcer closely this season but will cost well in excess of £6m.
