Manchester United head the race to sign Atalanta centre-back Giorgio Scalvini, according to Foot Mercato. The 20-year-old is among Europe’s top young defenders and features high on Paris Saint-Germain’s shortlist. But he will cost €50m (£43m), with Bayern Munich also keen.
Tottenham are keeping close tabs on Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes and might move for his transfer soon, reports Fla Web. Molineux chiefs are loath to lose the 22-year-old, though, so will ask for €35m (£30m). The Old Gold would owe Flamengo 10% due to a sell-on clause.
Leeds United defender Diego Llorente is pushing to terminate his loan transfer at Roma with Paris Saint-Germain now showing interest. Foot Mercato also reports that the Giallorossi are not opposed to his early exit with Llorente keen to join PSG if they get a cheap replacement.
Free agent Jesse Lingard has fired his agent as he pushes to get a new club, per Sky Sports News. The 31-year-old left Nottingham Forest at the end of his contract last June and is now frustrated that several offers and enquiries about potential moves have since fallen through.
Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund has confirmed that the club explored the transfer of Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha last summer. But Freund now feels FCB ‘believe we have a good alternative internally’ as Aleksandar Pavlovic moved up from their academy.
Ex-Nottingham Forest loanee Renan Lodi is already primed to leave Marseille just six months after joining from Atletico Madrid. RMC Sports notes that OM are now waiting for Al-Hilal to submit a €22m (£19m) offer for the 25-year-old. Marseille will accept the bid once it arrives.
Joshua Kimmich has told Sky Germany that he is ‘just concentrating on Bayern Munich’ amid transfer interest from Paris Saint-Germain. The Ligue 1 side are pushing to sign the 28-year-old midfielder in January. But his departure from the Allianz Arena is more likely this summer.
