Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea could reportedly make a late bid to sign Moises Caicedo ahead of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri is reporting on Twitter this morning that Chelsea could make a late bid to beat Liverpool to the signing of Moises Caicedo from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer transfer window.

Liverpool sent Chelsea warning about Moises Caicedo

The reporter has noted that Liverpool have agreed a £111 million deal with Brighton for Caicedo.

Tavolieri has warned Liverpool not to think that the deal is done now.

The journalist has said that Chelsea could make a late bid to snap up the Ecuador international midfielder ahead of Liverpool.

The Athletic has reported that Chelsea made a bid of £100 million for Caicedo, but Liverpool were ready to pay more for the youngster.

The report claimed that the Merseyside club are planning to conduct a medical for Caicedo on Friday.

It would be quite dramatic, wouldn’t it, if Chelsea now came in and made a bigger bid than Liverpool for Moises Caicedo?

What if Chelsea put £120 million on the table for Caicedo?

The big winners from this transfer saga are Brighton and Hove Albion.

After all, Brighton will get more than £110 million for a player who is only 21 and has had just one good season in the Premier League.

The Seagulls are an established and well-run club in the Premier League, and they are making the most of the interest in Caicedo from Liverpool and Chelsea.

Well done to Brighton. Well played.
