1) Kevin Strootman wanted by Chelsea?

Manchester United’s top transfer target Kevin Strootman is wanted by Chelsea, report The Star. The Roma midfielder is valued at around £40 million, and has recently bounced back from a serious knee injury. United will still have a major advantage to sign him over Jose Mourinho’s side, thanks to his personal connection with Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal, who managed him for Holland. Strootman’s future in January is likely to hinge on whether Roma clinch qualification to the Champions League knockout rounds, facing Manchester City on Wednesday night.

2) Manchester United and Arsenal hope over William Carvalho

Manchester United have a boost regarding another target, William Carvalho of Sporting Lisbon. The boss of the Portuguese side told a press conference on Tuesday that a move to the Premier League would be good for his development, and offers will be considered for the central midfielder in January, report ITV. He is also interesting Arsenal, and has a €37.5 million release clause in his contract, but Sporting may accept a bid of a lower amount.

3) Manchester City prioritise Paul Pogba

Manchester City are setting their sights on Paul Pogba as a replacement for Yaya Toure, report the Manchester Evening News. Pogba is currently starring for Juventus, having joined them after spending time in Manchester United’s academy. The French international is also admired by Chelsea, while PSG are also keen on the powerful central midfielder. The MEN report that Pogba is valued at €60 million by Juventus.

4) Palace and Everton battle for Ruddy

Crystal Palace and Everton are to battle it out for John Ruddy, report The Mirror. The goalkeeper stuck with Norwich City despite last season’s relegation, but both clubs see the 28-year-old as a viable option. Everton’s first choice Tim Howard is 35, while Speroni’s Palace contract is set to expire at the end of the season.
