Leeds United, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham feature…
A look at the late breaking transfer stories heading into December 30th…
Leeds give ultimatum to Pavoletti
The rumours surrounding Leeds United’s chase of Leonardo Pavoletti start way back in the summer, but his club Sassuolo wouldn’t let him go on deadline day. It’s therefore little surprise that Neil Redfearn’s men have rekindled their interest in the 26-year-old given that he’s barely featured in Serie A this season.
Pavoletti was at Leeds’ game against Wigan on Boxing Day, but Tutto Mercato Web report that Leeds are going to push Pavoletti for a concrete decision in the coming days. If he’s still stalling on a deal, then Leeds will pull the plug and look elsewhere, with Juve Stabia’s Samuel Di Carmine linked.
City to beat United to Miranda?
Manchester City have tried so hard to find a real partner for Vincent Kompany in recent years, but still can’t seem to find one. Jerome Boateng, Matija Nastasic and Martin Demichelis have all featured but failed to nail down the role, whilst Eliaquim Mangala has been shaky this season.
That has led to speculation that they could flex their muscles in the transfer market once again, with Manchester United target Miranda believed to be on Manuel Pellegrini’s shortlist. The Brazilian, 30, is available for £20m according to the Daily Mirror, and City want to beat their fierce rivals United to his signature.
Liverpool to fight Spurs for Berahino
With seven goals for West Bromwich Albion this season, it’s little surprise that Saido Berahino is being linked with some of the biggest clubs in England. The 21-year-old, who was called up to the England squad earlier this season, has had a dip in form of late – but that isn’t putting off potential suitors.
The Daily Mail claim that Liverpool are set to hijack Tottenham’s bid to sign Berahino, and are willing to pay close to the Baggies’ £25m asking price on the Burundi-born forward.
Rumours in brief…
- Manchester City are looking to recall Argentine midfielder Bruno Zuculini from his loan at Valencia, and send him off to their La Liga rivals Getafe instead after the 21-year-old saw little playing time at the Mestalla.
- Chelsea are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Rijeka striker Andrej Kramaric in a £7.5m transfer. The Croatian hitman, 23, has hit 28 goals in 31 games this season, and could be loaned out to Leicester upon his arrival at Stamford Bridge.
- Queens Park Rangers are interested in signing Tomas Kalas on loan from Chelsea, according to the player’s agent. The Czech Republic defender has been on the fringes of the Koln team, and with first-team football vital for the 21-year-old, the Blues are willing to recall him and loan him out again, possibly to nearby Loftus Road.
- Burnley striker Danny Ings, a reported target for Newcastle and Southampton, has told Burnley that he won’t be leaving in January. The 22-year-old hitman, who has scored four goals this season, is out of contract next summer, but says he won’t depart next month.
