Transfer claim made about Liverpool and Sadio Mane

Journalist Dean Jones has said that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool would re-sign Sadio Mane if Bayern Munich offered them the chance to.

Jones has told GiveMeSport that Liverpool would love to bring Mane back to Anfield in the summer transfer window if they had the chance to.

Mane joined Bayern from Liverpool in the summer of 2022.

The Senegal international forward won the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League during his time at Anfield.

The 30-year-old, who is on £250,000 per week as salary (The Mirror) cost Bayern an initial transfer fee of £27.5 million (Sky Sports).

Mane has had injury problems at Bayern and has not been at his scintillating best for the Bavarian giants so far this campaign.

The forward has made 14 starts and four substitute appearances in the Bundesliga for Bayern so far this season.

Mane has scored six goals and given four assists in those games.

The Senegalese star has made six starts and one substitute appearance in the UEFA Champions League for Bayern so far this campaign.

Mane has scored three goals and given one assist in those matches.

Claim made regarding Liverpool and Bayern Munich forward Sadio Mane

Jones said: “If they were offered Sadio Mane back, then they would 100% jump at the chance, I’m sure.

“I’m still convinced that his departure absolutely rocked everyone. I think that one of the big reasons that this Liverpool team’s wheels have fallen off this season is because they lost Mane.”
