Tottenham have been linked to Adrien Rabiot but he is a player they no longer need.

When Tottenham Hotspur were linked to PSG’s Adrien Rabiot two years ago it was questionable whether he was a player they needed.
In the time since, Rabiot has gone on to become a regular in PSG’s side, playing a part in knocking Chelsea out of the Champions League a couple of years back.
What has not changed though, is the fact that Rabiot is a player Tottenham do not need.
The Mirror reported last night that Spurs were weighing up a summer move for the 21-year-old, who is under contract at the French champions until 2019.
This season he has made 13 Ligue 1 starts, including in last night’s 5-1 victory away to Marseille, with a further six substitute appearances.
Yet there is no guarantee that Rabiot would make his way into Tottenham’s first team either, with competition for places intense.
Victor Wanyama is an integral part of Tottenham’s midfield, while this season has established truly that this is the position where Eric Dier plays his best football.
Mousa Dembele and Dele Alli are also key figures, while Harry Winks is pushing hard for starts.
Summer signing Moussa Sissoko has not been given, nor warranted, starts in central midfield, and Rabiot could find himself in the same position.
Considering that he would cost Tottenham in the region of £20 million based on his ability, age, and contract length, the transfer is not one they should be pursuing.
Rabiot is a defensive midfielder, and it is in attack where Tottenham have shown they need inspiration this season in big games, with expensive summer signings flopping.
Tottenham need to look at pacier, more creative and attack minded players, and Rabiot does not fit that category.
