Liverpool loanee Shamal George hasn’t impressed Tranmere Rovers fans.

Liverpool have a whole host of young players out on loan this season, in the hope that they will develop and eventually become first-team regulars at Anfield.
The Reds have sent out the likes of Marko Grujic, Ryan Kent, Ovie Ejaria, Ben Woodburn and Harry Wilson, believing that playing time away from Merseyside will help them improve.
One other loanee hasn’t gone very far at all, as young goalkeeper Shamal George has made the short journey to Tranmere Rovers, joining the League Two club until January 2019.
The 20-year-old shot-stopper was born in Wirral and has come up through the Liverpool ranks since the age of 11, but has yet to make a first-team appearance for the Reds.
After a stint with Carlisle United last season, George has been sent to Tranmere Rovers this term – but his spell at Prenton Park hasn’t got off to a great start.
George started Tuesday night’s 4-3 Checkatrade Trophy defeat to Crewe Alexandra, and committed a host of errors, with bizarre positioning allowing an early goal, and poor command of his area leading to the third.

Whilst he is young and has plenty of room and time to develop, Tranmere fans certainly aren’t impressed with George, with some taking to Twitter to suggest that he is sent back to Anfield as soon as possible.
Others joked that he must be taking lessons from error-prone Liverpool-owned stopper Loris Karius, and called his performance ‘absolutely dire’ and suggested he is a dodgy goalkeeper, whilst joking that ex-midfielder Theodore Whitmore would be better in goal than George.
