Sheffield United’s Harvey Gilmour is impressing on loan at Tranmere Rovers.

Tranmere Rovers manager Micky Mellon has lavished praise on Sheffield United loanee Harvey Gilmour when speaking to Tranmere’s official youtube account as his goal was the difference in the 1-0 win over Macclesfield Town.
“Harvey Gilmour just loves football and he’s a delight to work with all the time. He’s a real throwback. He’s a lad who wants to get out there, be involved and play well. He’s not frightened of looking to take part in the game. He’s a terrific player,” Mellon explained.
Gilmour joined Tranmere in the summer on loan from Sheffield United until January and went on to make his Football League debut for the club in early August.
The talented midfielder has gradually gotten to grips with the rigours of League Two football, and in the past week he has shown his capabilities by helping his loan side to back-to-back wins.
Following his double in the entertaining 4-3 victory over Morecombe, Gilmour was once again the hero on Friday night as his solitary strike gave Tranmere all three points against Macclesfield.

The 19-year-old never featured for the Blades despite showing plenty of potential in their youth sides, but his performances for Tranmere won’t have gone unnoticed with boss Chris Wilder monitoring his progress.
Gilmour has the ability to play at a higher level and he will be hopeful his experience and success at Prenton Park can act as a springboard and propel him to the Blades’ first-team squad in the near future.
