Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has told the club’s official website that there are no issues with the fitness of left-back Kieran Tierney.
Arteta made the comments about Arsenal defender Tierney following the Gunners’ pre-season friendly match against Nurnberg on Friday.
The former Celtic left-back could play only 30 minutes of the match.
Arsenal won 5-3.
Tierney, who cost Arsenal £25 million in transfer fees (BBC Sport), missed the final weeks of last season due to a knee problem.
However, there are no issues with the 25-year-old at the moment, according to Arsenal manager Arteta, who has added that the defender has been training really well.

Mikel Arteta on Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney
Arteta told Arsenal’s official website about Tierney: “He’s really good. He’s been training really good.
“Obviously he’s been out for over three months now so we wanted to give him a proper warm-up, play the first half an hour and then get him out.
“So he was in good condition and there’s no issues there.”
Wonderful news
In our opinion, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s comments on Kieran Tierney are wonderful and very encouraging for the fans.
They should allay the fears of Arsenal supporters over the fitness of the Scotland international left-back.
Tierney is one of the best left-backs in the Premier League, but the 25-year-old has had injury problems during his time at Arsenal so far.
For Arsenal to finish in the Premier League top four next season and also make an impact in the UEFA Europa League, Tierney has to be fit and firing.
