Chelsea manager Graham Potter has told Football.London that Mateo Kovacic could face Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the London derby this weekend.

Graham Potter’s Chelsea will lock horns with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Sunday.

Ahead of the match, Potter has said that he will have Kovacic available.

The Chelsea boss has said that the Croatia international midfielder trained today.

The 28-year-old former Inter Milan and Real Madrid midfielder did not play for Chelsea against Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Champions League in midweek.

Encouraging

In our view, Mateo Kovacic’s availability against Arsenal is a boost for Chelsea in their quest to pick up all three points from the Premier League game this weekend.

The Blues have not been exactly great recently and have had injury problems, and Potter needs to have players like Kovacic in his squad as options.

Kovacic is a very good and classy player who could make an impact against Arsenal even if he comes on as a substitute.

The Croatian has made four starts and five substitute appearances in the Premier League for Chelsea so far this season.

Kovacic has given one assist in those matches.

The midfielder has also scored one goal in five UEFA Champions League games for Chelsea so far this campaign.
