West Ham should be joining Newcastle United and Sevilla in the race to sign Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge this summer.

Newcastle United have again been linked with a move for Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge, but maybe West Ham should be considering a bid of their own.

Turkish Football claim the Magpies are in the hunt for the England international as well as Beskitas, whose supporters have launched a ‘Come to Beskitas’ campaign for the striker on social media.

Sturridge’s Anfield career looks dead and buried, with Roberto Firmino having made himself an indispensable member of the starting XI under Jurgen Klopp over the past couple of years.

Last term the 28-year-old was farmed out on loan to West Brom, where he failed to make an impact as the Baggies suffered relegation from the Premier League.

After making just six league appearances for Albion, Sturridge now finds himself back on Merseyside and in competition with Firmino, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and the fit-again Danny Ings for game time, meaning he more than likely will leave the club this summer.

West Ham could be a perfect fit for him. He has lived in London before when he played for Chelsea, and he could work well in a partnership or off of Marko Arnautovic up top, with Javier Hernandez having failed to convince at the London Stadium so far.

One gets the feeling that Sturridge is desperate to turn over a new leaf having faded into the background following a tremendous first couple of years at Liverpool. That new leaf could be in the form of Manuel Pellegrini and West Ham.
