West Ham United have recently announced two new signings in Issa Diop and Lukasz Fabianski, and the pair could help the Hammers challenge for Europe.

Lukasz Fabianski of Swansea City cries as he leaves the pitch during the Premier League match between Swansea City and Stoke City at Liberty Stadium on May 13, 2018 in Swansea, Wales.

West Ham United recently confirmed the signings of Issa Diop from Toulouse and Lukasz Fabianski from relegated Swansea City, and the pair could prove to be the difference between making the Europa League and fighting relegation again.

The Hammers successfully agreed an initial £22 million deal with Toulouse for Diop as reported by the Evening Standard and Fabianski was confirmed on Wednesday leaving the Welsh club for a fee of around £7 million.

West Ham struggled in the Premier League for the most part last season, sacking Slaven Bilic when the going got tough and bringing in David Moyes.

The Scot was able to keep the club up in the end, but West Ham should be finishing higher than 13th, and the signings of Diop and Fabianski could propel them up the table.

Frenchman Diop is a highly-rated defender who is physically imposing and quick across the ground and dominant in the air, and Fabianski has a wealth of Premier League experience and is an upgrade on Adrian.

Both West Ham acquisitions are improvements on what is already at Manuel Pellegrini’s disposal, and could help bridge the 12-point gap between the Hammers and Europe last season.
