The former Reds striker thinks the £10 million summer signing is ready for the Premier League.

Former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore believes Divock Origi is ready for the Premier League.

The £10 million summer signing was loaned straight back to Lille after signing for the Reds – but Collymore feels he is already good enough to turn out for the Anfield side.

The 43-year-old, who played for Liverpool between 1995-97, says he wasn’t convinced by Origi at the World Cup.

But, after seeing him in action during Belgium’s 2-0 win over Australia, Collymore now feels the 19-year-old is ‘ready.’

Despite his obvious talent, Origi himself has recently vowed to stay patient during his pursuit for a place within the Liverpool side.

“I’ll go there with a lot of patience and I know I’m going to learn a lot off the great players, there,” he said.

“They welcomed me very, very well. They showed me a little bit about the club, about the history, the philosophy, so it was very interesting. At the end I think it was the right choice.”

Indeed, however good the Belgian currently is – or will be – he will have his work cut out when it comes to playing ahead of the likes of Daniel Sturridge, Raheem Sterling and Mario Balotelli.
