Leicester City have reportedly made an official bid to sign Juventus midfielder Stefano Sturaro.
Claude Puel is already getting to work ahead of the new season, and has identified the Italian international as someone who could come in and challenge his existing midfield players.
The Foxes currently have Wilfried Ndidi, Andre Silva and Vicente Iborra as their main three options, with Daniel Amartey primarily used as a defender and Andy King having spent the second half of last season on loan at Swansea City.
Sturaro has been with Juventus since 2014 after signing from Genoa for an initial €5.5 million, but has never really forced his way into the starting line up and stayed there.
Last season the 25-year-old made just seven starts in Serie A and five appearances off the bench, and Di Marzio reports that Leicester are ready to offer him an escape route, and a better chance of regular first team football.
Juventus want closer to €20 million, but would do well to fetch that sum for a player who made 19 appearances across all competitions.
He may not be a regular at Juve, but Sturaro is still a capable midfielder who is effective at shielding the defence and making important tackles in the first third.
By signing Sturaro and playing him alongside Ndidi, Leicester could really address their defensive issues of last season, with right-back Ricardo Pereira having already agreed to come to the King Power Stadium from Porto.
