Everton are reportedly set to test Bayer Leverkusen’s resolve over Brazilian defender Wendell – but the news has been greeted by skepticism from fans.

The left-back has played in over 400 games for the Toffees since his arrival on Merseyside in 2007 from Wigan Athletic, and in that time he has also earned 30 England caps.

Wendell has made over 100 Bundesliga appearances for Leverkusen since joining in 2014, and is regarding as one of the better left-backs in the division.
