The £30 million Manchester United signing praised his former Southampton team-mate, now of Arsenal.
Luke Shaw was full of praise for Calum Chambers after it was announced that Roy Hodgson had called the Arsenal defender up to his latest England squad.
Shaw was part of Hodgson’s World Cup squad and has since completed a £30 million move to Manchester United.
Things haven’t exactly gone to plan for the former Southampton ace, however, as injury problems have ruled him out of action for several weeks.
Chambers, by contrast, has enjoyed a brilliant start to the season since joining the Gunners from the Saints for £16 million.
And his good form has been rewarded with his first international call-up, something Shaw feels he fully deserves.
England will face Norway at Wembley Stadium in a friendly, before traveling to Switzerland for their opening Euro 2016 qualifier.
Chambers is a full-back by trade but has been deputising at centre-back for Arsenal so far this season – and to good effect.
