Leander Dendoncker is a target of West Ham United again according to RMC Sport, and the London club are going to have to move fast in case he shines at the World Cup.

The Hammers have been credited with an interest in the player before, but perhaps they should be thinking about moving sooner rather than later; specifically before he is able to demonstrate his true capabilities on the world stage in Russia.

Dendoncker is a defensive midfield powerhouse who is also comfortable playing as a centre-half, and he would certainly bring some much need steel and aggression to Manuel Pellegrini’s side.

RMC claim French club Lyon have also entered the race to sign Dendoncker, meaning time really could be of the essence on this one for West Ham.

The Passendale-born star will not start for Belgium when they kick off the summer tournament given the players at their disposal. But he could well be called upon by Roberto Martinez from the bench, where he could easily add millions on to his market value – currently believed to be around around €22m – in front of the watching world.
