Another Chelsea star secures a loan move – but will he struggle again?

Victor Moses has joined Stoke City on a season-long loan deal.

Chelsea have confirmed that the 23-year-old has moved to the Britannia Stadium on a temporary basis, the second season in a row he will have been loaned out by the Blues.

But despite the fact that Mark Hughes’ team have become a fluent, attacking side, is there fair reason to believe Moses will struggle once again this term?

Last season, the Nigerian spent the campaign on loan at Liverpool but fell down the pecking order after just a handful of appearances.

As Opta stats show, Moses managed just one league goal in 19 Premier League appearances, amassing just 644 minutes in total by the end of the campaign.

The 23-year-old should fare better at Stoke, just as Oussama Assaidi did last season – but are there any guarantees?

During the World Cup, Moses also struggled for Nigeria, eventually being dropped for Michel Babatunde.

Both Moses and Stoke fans, then, will hope Hughes can get the best out of him. For another unsuccessful loan move may put an end to his Chelsea future.

Success at the Britannia, on the other hand, will keep him in Jose Mourinho’s thoughts – while also giving him a chance of securing a permanent move to the Potters.
