And it’s not as if Louis van Gaal’s side got their Premier League campaign off to the best of starts during last weekend’s 2-1 reverse to Swansea City.
But Herrerra is staying positive, reassuring Man United fans on Twitter over two things.
Firstly, the 25-year-old Spaniard will cheer his side on during Sunday’s clash and, secondly, he says he will return to fitness soon.
Herrera, who signed for United for £28.8 million this summer, played just 67 minutes against the Swans last week but Opta stats show his important to Van Gaal’s side.

Of any United player, Herrerra completed the third-most final-third passes at Old Trafford, having made 12 in just over an hour.
Had he lasted the full 90 minutes, he may have overtaken Juan Mata and Darren Fletcher.
Manchester United’s game at Sunderland will take place on Sunday afternoon, before a trip to Burnley awaits six days later.
