It’s fair to say Liverpool like a player with skill.
Over the past few months, when the Reds almost ended a 24-year-wait for the Premier League title, the likes of Raheem Sterling, Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge dazzled with the ball at feet, beating their man more times than defenders would care to remember.
It is no surprise, then, that Liverpool have been linked with a move for Alexis Sanchez this summer. The Barcelona man has pace in abundance – and the flair and goalscoring ability to match it.
At the World Cup, Sanchez has been able to showcase his talent to the whole planet, quite literally. And he did no better job of it than yesterday, when he shone against the Netherlands despite being on the losing side.

As Opta stats show, Sanchez made five accurate crosses and took 83 touches during his side’s 2-0 defeat to the Dutch.
More impressive, however, was the 25-year-old’s eight dribbles won – the second-highest tally of any single match during the tournament.

Interestingly, Sanchez’s performance was more than twice as effective as that of Arjen Robben, though the experienced Dutchman was perhaps luckier to have more clinical team-mates, as one of his crosses brought the Netherlands’ second goal.
