Scottish Premiership champions Celtic have been linked with an eye-watering move for Ligue 1 centre-back Jullien.

It looks increasingly likely that Christopher Jullien will leave Toulouse this summer. Particularly with the Ligue 1 outfit seemingly identifying the giant defender’s replacement.

And they’ll probably need one too with interest rising in the 6ft 5ins Frenchman. According to the Daily Record, Celtic are interested in bringing Jullien to Glasgow as they look to fill the void created by the recent departures of both Dedryck Boyata and Filip Benkovic.

The 26-year-old, who has the experience and the leadership skills to transform a Celtic defence who have been humiliated far too often on the European stage in recent years, will cost around £8 million.

Such a fee would make him the club’s second most expensive signing ever.

And Celtic should take plenty of interest in claims, from Les Violets, that Toulouse are planning for Jullien’s departure by targeting Pablo Martinez, a versatile 30-year-old who is set to leave Strasbourg when his contract expires at the end of the month.

Right now, it seems very, very unlikely that Jullien will be playing for Toulouse next season with all signs pointing at his departure.

Whether he ends up in the green and white of Celtic… that remains to be seen.
