Thierry Henry has warned Rangers that it’s going to be ‘tough’ for them to beat RB Leipzig ahead of their Europa League semi-final clash on Thursday night, as he told CBS Sports (27/04/22 at 10:50 pm).

Rangers are in Germany ahead of their first leg showdown, with the winner of this tie playing either West Ham or Eintracht Frankfurt in the final.

There is a chance that there could be an all-German final or an all British affair between the English and Scottish duo.

Of course, the latter would be a lot more interesting, entertaining and eye-catching, but both sides have to see off their semi-final opponents first.

Out of the two, Giovanni van Bronkhorst’s side have the more difficult opponents and it’s something Henry seemingly agrees with.

“Yes I do love watching him (Nkunku),” said Henry. “Goals and assists. He is just having fun this season. But he is adding goals this year.

“He’s in the national team now. His confidence. The world wants him. It’s going to be a tough one for Rangers, I think, in beating RB Leipzig.”

One thing is for sure, Rangers have made life difficult for themselves during this tournament, as they proved during their meeting with Braga.

During that second leg encounter at Ibrox, they didn’t take their chances and were punished by being taken to extra time.

Leipzig, with the attacking threat they have at their disposal, van Bronkhorst’s side simply can’t make those mistakes again.

It doesn’t help matters that key personnel are missing for the Scottish side, but they have to take something back to Ibrox where they know in front of their supporters, they can get the job done.
