John Lundstram believes he is starting to find his feet at Rangers after a tough start to life at Ibrox after joining Steven Gerrard’s Gers on a free transfer in July, via The Scottish Sun.

The midfielder arrived in Glasgow on Bosman this summer after leaving Sheffield United at the end of his contract. However, his adaptation period from the Premier League to the Premiership proved long-drawn as formed continually evaded the 27-year-old.

Rangers have started to see the best from Lundstram of late with standout performances at Dundee and against Hibernian. But much to his frustration, an international break now means the Liverpool-born technician cannot build on his display against Hibs on Sunday.

Lundstram wishes Rangers were heading straight back into domestic action after beating Hibernian as he is pleased with his form. The former England U20 international also admits he has struggled with the change of scenery from Brammall Lane to Ibrox.

“I’m just finding my feet,” Lundstram said. “It’s tough at times, changing clubs and coming into a new dressing room. I’m getting used to it now and hopefully I can continue the good form. I just wish there was a game next week, to be honest.

“It was tough today, but we’d go straight into next week. We’ve got two weeks rest now, we’ll recharge the batteries and then go again.”

Rangers will share Lundstram frustration at international break

Lundstram seemed to turn a corner with his performances for Rangers against Livingston in the League Cup on September 22. Some Gers supporters also praised his efforts at home to David Martindale’s side, having offered an effective presence at Ibrox.

His prior performances had warranted much criticism, with Gary McAlister even suggesting he was ‘trying too hard’. Yet Lundstram has now delivered promising performances in back-to-back league games after dictating the pace against Dundee and Hibs.

Lundstram was also strong in the tackle against Dundee and was unlucky not to score his second Rangers goal. While impressing by covering the field and supporting the transition of possession. But Gerrard will have to hope the international break does not set him back.
